Free Tattoo Removal in Orlando, Florida on October 1, 2021

patients wanted orlando tattoo removalYes, you read the title of this post correctly. New Look Laser College (NLLC) is offering free tattoo removal in Orlando, Florida on October 1, 2021.

Here’s What You Need to Know:

NLLC is seeking patients for laser tattoo removal in Orlando, Florida to be treated during our October 1 – 2, 2021 tattoo removal course.  We’ve been offering our laser training program for over 10 years, and offer the course to the general public every two months or more.

An important part of the training is the hands-on practice that we offer our training clients. Our clients include physicians, other healthcare professionals, tattoo artists, and entrepreneurs that are looking to get involved in the cosmetic and aesthetic laser industry. We demonstrate the use of Q-switched lasers and give them practice using these devices, under our supervision.

We occasionally need additional model patients that will receive free treatment in exchange for their participation. We normally have 10 to 15 model patients stop by for treatments each course. We don’t make a guarantee that we’ll be able to offer you an unlimited number of treatments, but model patients that are easy to work with are almost always invited back to receive additional free treatments if needed at a future course. In most cases, your treatment will only take 5 to 15 minutes.

If you are interested in being a laser tattoo removal patient at our Orlando course, you will need to make sure you can be available sometime between 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM and be near the course location at 20 N. Orange Avenue, Suite 1100, Orlando, FL 32801.

After you pay a $25 refundable deposit, we will send you a link to a signup genius where you can lock in your time. After your treatment, you will be credited back the full $25 deposit.

3 Bad Decisions Regarding Pete Davidson’s Tattoo Removal

If you have seen the latest Smart Water ad featuring Pete Davidson and his decision to get all of his tattoos removed, you may have noticed the commercial perpetuate a few more bad choices. Pete, we are worried about you, and we want to point out a few things you might want to consider before your next laser tattoo removal session. If you are looking to learn more about laser tattoo removal training we encourage you to read on.

The three main takeaways that illustrate how unsmart you and the Smart Water ad producers include:

  1. Goggles, Goggles, Goggles
  2. FDA Cleared Laser
  3. Not using a Cryo

Here is the video so you can see what we are talking about

Goggles, Goggles, Goggles

Whoever wrote the script or produced the Pete Davidson Smart Water tattoo removal video made an obvious mistake replicating an actual laser tattoo removal treatment. Anyone adequately trained to fire a tattoo removal laser knows that you have to WEAR GOGGLES when you fire a laser, or you risk damaging the patient’s and practitioner’s eyes! Not wearing goggles is an oversight that the layperson might not have noticed, but our team of laser tattoo removal experts at New Look Laser College, the training arm of Astanza, were left shocked.

Wavelength-specific goggles give necessary protection to practitioners and patients during laser treatments. It is crucial that the filter on the goggles corresponds to the wavelength of light used for treatment and that sufficient optical density is incorporated. Therefore, each laser comes with goggles specific to the wavelengths it creates.

Stainless Steel Eye Shields

For the safe removal of tattoos from the face, laser tattoo removal practitioners prefer the safety and comfort that stainless steel eye shields provide.

Stainless steel eye shields provide necessary patient eye protection during laser treatments on the face, including facial tattoo removal and other aesthetic treatments like skin rejuvenation and pigmented or vascular lesion treatments. The traditional protective goggles are too large to allow treatment near the eyes, and these metal shields are convenient and practical, giving complete coverage over the sensitive eye area.

FDA Cleared Laser

Okay, we know that not everyone uses an Astanza Duality laser (although it is the primary picture on Wikipedia for Laser Tattoo Removal Laser). But according to our team of laser tattoo removal experts, the tattoo removal laser used in the Pete Davidson Smart Water ad is not an FDA-cleared tattoo removal laser. So why does having an FDA-cleared tattoo removal laser matter? Well, it’s a Federal law to start with, and every laser tattoo removal practitioner in the United States must comply with that one fundamental requirement regardless of which state they are practicing in. Therefore, you have to use an FDA-cleared tattoo removal device, or you are in violation of federal law and can potentially face severe penalties.

How Do You Know if a Medical Device is FDA Approved, Cleared, or Authorized?

The FDA provides several ways to check whether a medical device is approved or cleared as such or, as stated below, is authorized for use during a public health emergency.

Check for Approved and Cleared Products in the Devices@FDA Database: Devices@FDA is a catalog of approved and cleared medical device information from the FDA.

  1. Go to the FDA Database
  2. In the “Search Database” form, type the name of a device or company. You can search the exact name of a specific device or a generic term for a category of devices (such as a pacemaker).
  3. Click Search.

One thing to note about finding FDA Clearances is that a laser’s marketed name may differ from its registered name. For example, the Asclepion MeDioStar, diode laser hair removal device shows up under Asclepion – Powered Laser Surgical Instrument – Pronto; Smooth Pulse PRO; The MeDioStar NeXT Family.

A good rule of thumb is to ask a laser distributor, or the person selling you a laser, what the device’s FDA 510k clearance name is. That way, you can find the specific listing before purchasing.

Not Using a Cryo

Pete, Pete, Pete… for the number of tattoos you want to remove, you might want to think about finding a practitioner that uses an effective form of pain alleviation rather than just sucking it up. Using pain reduction to increase patient comfort is a best practice for laser tattoo removal clinics. While treatments without a Cryo are possible, they aren’t recommended or preferred by potential prospects.

Freezing Cold Air for Skin Numbing and Maximum Comfort

The Zimmer Cryo 6 is a cooling device that directs cold air (-30°C) deep into the skin where the ink resides. Within a matter of seconds, the cool air mitigates any discomfort or pain associated with the laser. Unlike other cooling methods, the Cryo can cool the epidermis before, during, and after treatment, making it the only cooling method that delivers constant cooling throughout the entirety of a treatment session for fast, prolonged numbing of the treatment area.

By simply blowing this cold air on the skin for a few minutes, the skin will be thoroughly numbed for treatment – reducing pain and unwanted risks of thermal injuries.

Smart Water – Smart Choice

Despite all of the problems with the Smart Water ad and the laser practitioner probably being blind from firing a tattoo removal laser without goggles, Pete made an intelligent decision to drink Smart Water or any water for that matter. Maintaining proper hydration is recommended as an aftercare tip following laser tattoo removal treatment.

Don’t be a Pete. Instead, learn to safely and effectively perform laser tattoo removal at an upcoming New Look Laser College training course. After all, you don’t want to be blind and sitting in a jail cell because you used a non-FDA-cleared laser and forgot to use goggles during the laser tattoo removal process.

Register for State Laser Regulations Webinar
,

Favorable States for Laser Tattoo Removal

Researching your state’s regulations should take priority when starting a laser tattoo removal business. Every state has specific rules and regulations on who can operate a laser for specific procedures, if delegation is needed, and more. Favorable states for laser tattoo removal do exist but you have to understand the regulations to know which ones. While many states’ medical or licensing boards provide straightforward rulings on their website, some regulations can be quite vague–however, this might work in your favor. In other words, if rules are not clear, they can be open to interpretation and indicate that certain people can perform laser tattoo removal. In this article, we help navigate the top 5 laser tattoo removal regulation-friendly states.

Florida

When it comes to laser tattoo removal regulations that are unclear and subject to interpretation, Florida ranks number one, and there’s a pretty simple explanation for why that is. Unlike tattoo removal, laser hair removal is strictly regulated, and the rules are pretty straightforward when it comes to this aesthetic laser service. To be certified in laser hair removal, practitioners must be certified in electrolysis to use hair removal technology and also receive laser hair removal endorsement on their training. That said, laser hair removal and laser tattoo removal technology are significantly different, making them governed differently as well. Fortunately, the Florida Board of Medicine website has a pretty clear-cut landing page for those curious about how laser tattoo removal is managed. Essentially, it isn’t. The Florida Medical Practice Act doesn’t directly address tattoo removal, enabling tattoo shops and non-medical entrepreneurs across the state to offer laser tattoo removal services without that medical oversight.

Hawaii

The Aloha state is another interesting case. A few years ago, the Hawaii Medical Board issued an advisory ruling regarding laser tattoo removal. This ruling implies that the medical board thinks that a medical director should establish a patient as suitable for treatment. Still, the legislators never adopted a rule based on this advisory ruling. So this particular state can be seen as one that may have regulations change in the future, but there is no additional oversight required for now.

New York

Many organizations single out New York as one of the states with incredibly vague rules for lasers in the aesthetic space, including laser hair removal and tattoo removal. So the state is a bit up in the air at the moment. Although a few bills are being introduced to rein in the expanding market, particularly for laser hair removal, nothing has made any traction, been signed or passed to clarify any regulations.

Nevada

There is a lack of information regarding the use of lasers in *any* capacity in Sin City and Nevada more broadly. We’ve seen non-medical entrepreneurs and tattoo artists across the state try to capitalize on the open market and low barriers of entry. The only documentation we’ve been able to find references tattoo removal, but not with lasers specifically. Simply put, it seems that all you need to start removing tattoos is to register your business with the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health.

Washington, D.C.

Our nation’s capital has a similar situation to that of Hawaii. Advisory rulings and suggestions from the departments of health or boards of medicine are nothing more than advice. If you’re treating patients responsibly and with an FDA-cleared laser for the procedure you hope to perform, that should cover the vast majority of the issues that could arise. The District would like to see business owners have a doctor on-site with the practitioners, but they haven’t mandated such a restriction to this point.

What is a medical director and what do they do?

The role of a medical director is really to serve as a backstop for practitioners. Depending on your state, a medical director may need to be on-site for many reasons, including while procedures are being performed, to conduct a good faith examination, or be available during treatments but not necessarily at the physical location. This medical director relationship is how nearly all states operate. Still, some states are a little more clear about who the medical director can be and what their responsibilities include.

For more information on medical directors, check out this blog: https://info.astanzalaser.com/blog/medical-directors-and-tattoo-removal-clinics.

Disclaimer: Please consider the advice in this post as mere guidance based on research readily available through various state regulatory bodies versus a statement of factor rule of law. Rules and laws may change at any time and may be interpreted differently from how indicated here. As we always say, do your due diligence and check with official regulation websites and whoever may be enforcing your state rules. Regardless of the state rules, all practitioners should aim to have a medical director to have reliable medical advice for all patients. Calling a state a favorable tattoo removal state is somewhat subjective.

If you have questions about favorable tattoo removal states or how New Look Laser College or Astanza can help your search for elusive state regulations or a medical director, call or text at (281) 846-5890 or email info@newlooklasercollege.com and we’ll do our best to help answer questions about your specific situation.

How to Remove Tattoos

One of the most commonly asked questions when someone is starting to become interested in the laser tattoo removal business is “How to Remove Tattoos?” Questions regarding how to remove a tattoo are pervasive, and there are many myths, misconceptions, and rumors about tattoo removal that must be understood if getting into the business of laser tattoo removal.

Over the years, many unproven and sometimes dangerous tattoo removal methods have gained interest from those looking to either have their tattoo removed or from those looking to profit from tattoo removal. A few of the most commonly used tattoo removal processes include topical creams, excision, and tattoo removal through injection.

How to Remove Tattoos?

Tattoo Removal Topical Creams
Topical tattoo removal creams are FAR less reputable than excision. Truthfully, tattoo removal creams are considered less of a viable treatment option and more commonplace online scams. These creams and gels are sold primarily online, but some notable retailers like Walmart have carried similar products. A quick Google search for “tattoo removal” will likely present you with a handful of topical creams. Do not be fooled by the low price (around $50 per bottle) and flashy advertising: these products are notorious for being ineffective.

While their labels typically list “all-natural” ingredients like aloe, eucalyptus, orange peel, rosemary, and sage, their primary active ingredients are often TCA, hydroquinone, or other acids. Marketing attempts for tattoo removal creams often state the product will break down the ink “on a cellular level,” wherein it is then pushed to more surface-level layers of the skin for easier exfoliation. (Any tattoo owner will tell you that tattoos can not be “exfoliated.”)

These creams boast complete removal despite vague promises, little instructions for use, and a lack of messaging about how the cream works. No topical cream can penetrate the dermis to break apart tattoo ink without causing noticeable scarring and damage to the skin (and discomfort to the patient). Topical tattoo removal creams are not known to leave scars – they notoriously do not work. We recommend that patients not waste their time or money on tattoo removal creams.   Read more
